It's really very sad news. K.Balachander, who is considered one of the great filmmakers of India, died today.

He is 84. He has been suffering from an illness for a while and has breathed his last in Kauvery hospital in Chennai. His son Kailasam also died this year.

Known as a maverick director Balachander has directed some great movies. This legendary filmmaker has produced many great actors like Kamal Haasan industry, Rajinikanth, Prakash Raj etc. He is an inspiration to many directors. He was a recipient of numerous awards and is a national award winner mulitiple.
