Internet giant Google plans to open its own "permanent and big" school in Hyderabad and is set to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Telangana government shortly to take the risk.

"Probably sign MoU with Google. It is likely to open its campus here in Hyderabad. It will be the third campus after the US and the UK," Telangana IT, Electronics and Communications Secretary Harpreet Singh told PTI here.

Google currently operates from a rented here, but want to move to a "permanent campus," he said, adding that the main technology would sign a memorandum of understanding with the state government shortly.

He, however, refused to go into further details of the proposed company, saying in a press conference is scheduled to be held shortly in this, but added that it would be a "great campus."

Mr. Singh also said Cisco, Airtel, Vodafone and a Taiwanese company, among others, have responded to the expression of interest floated by the government proposed to make Hyderabad a 'Wi-Fi enabled city "enterprise.

"Many of them have teamed up and coming," Singh said, adding that the Taiwanese firm, in fact, was behind making a city of Taipei enabled Wi-Fi said.

But he said the companies that interest evidenced have sought information as detailed city maps, including roads, and some clarification on some specific points.

"Therefore, we are preparing the answers, let's give it to them."

"It will take time (to the city Wi-Fi enabled), because the business model is the key issue. Make wi-fi is not a big deal ... but how to monetize that is the question ... key, "he said.

Mr. Singh, however, said he expects the contract to the company to be granted for the next three or four months after the floating of the RFP and the bidding process.

After that, the contractor is expected to be made six months to deploy the infrastructure, he said, indicating that the city is likely to be Wi-Fi enabled only towards the end of next year.

For Rs 30 million proposed facility incubator for technology start-ups rupees, he said his designs have been completed and the bidding process is ongoing.

The 70,000 square foot facility will have 800 seats, which houses a forecast of 500 new companies at different stages of growth, he said. "We are planning to formally inaugurate the building in June 2 (on the first anniversary of the formation of Telangana state)."

As for software exports Hyderabad, said it was Rs 57,000 crore or about $ 10 billion in 2013-14. "This year (2014-15), I think it is (will be) to 12 percent (more). We can do a little better (better than 12 percent growth)," said Mr Singh.
