The Centre will soon change the Reorganization Act AP rectify anomalies being identified by the governments of Telangana and AP. Disclosing this to this

newspaper on Friday night, said Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs M. Venkaiah Naidu, "We are doing everything possible to get the amendment passed in the current session. Otherwise, it will be in the budget session".

He said he had already held consultations with former Union minister Jairam Ramesh and other Heads of Division of the nature of the changes and all had agreed to extend support.

This would be the first amendment to the Act after the sate forks on June 2, 2014. He was previously modified by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his first cabinet meeting on May 28, bringing the seven mandals district Khammam residual AP.

The amendments referred to are:

1. Fort AP Legislative Council to rise from the current 50-58 to be restricted to one third of the total 175 seats in the Assembly.

2. Force Telangana Legislative Council will remain at 40, but the discrepancies in the original Act and the schedule will be modified.

3. Six current members of Rajya Sabha (Renuka Chowdary, MA Khan, KVP Ramachandra Rao, Jairam Ramesh, Devender gold, K. Keshava Rao and Ramesh CM) which originally belongs to AP and Telangana states, but later were assigned to different states the draw of lots due to bifurcation Act shall conform to their native for the purpose of spending their funds MPLADS states; following expiration of their mandates, their seats are accounted for states that were assigned. Currently these six deputies can not pass MPLADS in their native states due to their assignment to another member state.

Although the changes are intended to correct the anomalies, if both governments want any specific amendment to the Act shall be deemed positive. However, with regard to the guarantee of granting special status to AP and Telangana states, which can not be brought within the scope of the Act, as it is for the National Development Council to consider the central government.

"We have given security in this, will be following the due procedure," said Venkaiah Naidu.

However, it remains to be seen whether some more amendments will be suggested by the two States offering more teeth to the various monitoring committees established for the distribution of the waters of the Krishna and Godavari river and the power exchange.
