The ambitious plans of the state government of AP to provide nutritious food to the poor at a lower price (below 10 rupees per plate) by subsidized Canteen `Anna 'reportedly has come as a crop with reports that there is a crisis fund.

Naidu's government announced in July 2014 plans to start canteens Anna lines Amma eaters who have become successful in Tamil Nadu. October 2 was all ready for the formal launch of the scheme in Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Vijayawada and Anantapur, with over 40 dining marking the first phase.

However, the government appears to have postponed this without even declaring any date fresh shoot while even officials of local government bodies and civil supplies department have no idea when these kitchens will start.
