The Government of Telangana is preparing to unveil the new information technology (IT) policy during the third week of this month, boosted by the encouraging response its new industrial policy announced recently, has received.

Hyderabad making the best and most attractive IT destination in the country, pointing to Rs. 20,000 crore IT / ITES exports, with the goal of 16 percent growth for the IT sector and the potential for direct / indirect employment creation for 20 lakh people are likely to be the drivers of the new policy. IT Minister K. T. Rama Rao participated in the discussion of the characteristics of the new policy with the Secretary (IT) for the state government Harpreet Singh and other officials of the past three days. They are planning to design IT policy in a manner that is most attractive in the country, the minister said Sunday.

Priority will be given to companies to submit proposals for the creation of mega projects and pursuing a cell will be created to help those investors. Up companies a helping hand will also be provided to support the research, said the Minister.

Affirming that Hyderabad was already one of the most popular destinations in the country, Mr. Rama Rao said they were planning to offer more to attract entrepreneurs and investors by preparing a policy with inspiration drawn from industrial policy unveiled recently. The aim of the new policy is going to give permissions for establishing IT units in the shortest time possible by reducing delays in the processing of applications at different levels, said.

The state government had already undertaken to improve skills among young qualified by making them employment prepared by designing appropriate training programs in collaboration with industry unemployed. Training for skills development aims to make the employable youth, encouraging them to take research / innovation and creating entrepreneurship, said the Minister.

Mr. Rama Rao said the government made efforts will be to reduce the socio-economic imbalance in society by providing additional incentives for companies coming forward to establish its IT units at level two and level three cities. The policy also give a boost to the development of the necessary infrastructure for IT employees.
