Notable BJP senior leader and writer Mridula Sinha was Sunday sworn in as governor of Goa, after the resignation of BV Wanchoo. Chief Justice Mohit Shah Bombay High Court administered the oath. 

Goa governor had no full-time after the resignation of the Wanchoo after his role was questioned according VVIP chopper post. 

Sinha, 71, becomes the first female governor of the state with a full-time position. 

Born November 27, 1942, in the village in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar Chhapra, Sinha is a renowned Hindi writer and former president of the Central Social Welfare Board (CSWB). She is also the former president of the BJP Mahila Morcha. 

She has actively participated in 'Samagra Kranti' Jai Prakash Narayan led. 

After taking a PG degree in psychology, completed B.Ed. She began teaching at Dr SK Sinha Female College, Motihari, and later became director of Bharatiya Shishu Mandir in Muzaffarpur.
