L & T will build 5,000 toilets as part of their corporate social responsibility initiatives.

In a statement Sunday, the company, "AM Naik, Executive Chairman of the Group said, announced a major CSR initiative would add traction to the 'SWACHH Bharat Abhiyan' program recently launched by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in the independence Day. "

Naik said that the objectives of L & T ongoing CSR program were aligned with the mission of 'SWACHH Bharat Abhiyan'.

L & T said the company, along with L & T Public Charitable Trust is committed to building social infrastructure in India.

Investments water supply and distribution, sanitation facilities, health facilities and vocational training institutes will be covered.
