Three cities in Andhra Pradesh-- Vijaywada, Nelore and Tirupati-- soon have solar systems street lighting lines Visakhapatnam, P Narayana, Minister of Municipal Administration said.

Narayana was speaking to reporters after inaugurating the treatment plant wastewater Autonagar.

At present, the whole system of street lighting in Visakhapatnam is under reconstruction. Of the total of 96,000 street lights in Visakhapatnam and 85,000 have become solar streetlights, said.

Once completed the entire project, the prime minister Narendra Modi inaugurated in Vizag. It is considered one of the largest solar street lighting projects in the world.

Visakhapatnam Once finished, the lighting work would be considered in Vijayawada, Tirupati and Nellore, the minister added.
