NCP General Secretary Tariq Anwar today ruled out his party to help form BJP government in Maharashtra and said there was no decision to side with Shiv Sena either. "The issue of support to BJP to form government in Maharashtra does not arise," Anwar told reporters here. "We have ideological differences with communal parties," he said.

PNC leader said his party has made clear that it could forge an alliance or reach a political settlement with secular parties. The Shiv Sena's side, said he has not taken a decision so far. Anwar said that if his party loses the election, the biggest reason for that would be the rupture of the alliance between the NCP and the Congress that hurt both parties.

He said if exit poll was to be believed, the defeat of the BJP would not match because of the division of votes between them. "It was seen during the general elections BJP with only 31 percent voting succeded in forming government, while other games with huge 69 percent of votes sat in the opposition," he said. "This can be repeated in Maharashtra and Haryana too," Anwar said.

Making a scathing attack on the BJP government at the Centre, the NCP leader said that "the central government is deliberately adopting Bihar step motherly approach because it has an opposition government."
Questioning the government's silence on Narendra Modi giving special status to Bihar who had promised during the election campaign, even said that the money allocated by the previous UPA government as a special package has also reached the state.
